Journalist and writer Gaston Leroux, father of the popular hero Rouletabille who resolves the Mystery of the yellow room and reappearss in the Flavor of the lady in black, settled down definitively in Nice in 1909. He lived first in Cimiez then 53 boulevard Gambetta. It was in his adoptive city that he created another famous character, Chéri-bibi. Nice was also the setting of his last novel, Hardigras or the three fathers’ son.
